Meet Liz of Dayton Birth Doula Plus

Hello!
I'm Elizabeth Velasquez. I love supporting women and families as a Birth Doula and Breastfeeding Specialist in Dayton, Ohio. It is so rewarding being in the company of families welcoming their babies into the world and playing a role in helping the mother have a safe and beautiful birth and breastfeeding experience.
I began attending births in 2014, became a certified birth doula by 2016, trauma-trained in 2023, and became a certified breastfeeding specialist in 2025.

A little more about me...
I am originally from Buffalo, NY but have been living in Dayton the past 16 years. I entered birth work after experiencing firsthand the effects doulas have on the birth experience. I had a doula with my second birth, but not with my first. The difference between having a doula and not having a doula was so great that it inspired me to become one. 11 years later I'm still working joyfully with women and families!
Besides birth work, I enjoy writing, filmmaking, community organizing, and spending time and enjoying meals with family and friends. I am married and have three school-aged children.
