Prenatal Hermana Services

​​​What is a Prenatal Hermana?

A skilled perinatal peer support person who is experienced in guiding women through the physical and emotional changes of early pregnancy and pregnancy generally. A Prenatal Hermana provides fast and direct emotional support, information, and guidance to women through low-pressure, convenient virtual or phone sessions, complementing the doula's role by filling in any gaps with support.

Pricing:

Initial phone consultation up to 30 minutes= Free

50 minute session = $50

When do I contact a Prenatal Hermana?

You can seek out Prenatal Hermana support as soon as your first positive pregnancy test! Or anytime in your pregnancy. You may choose to have just one or several sessions throughout your pregnancy.

Prenatal Hermanas Do:

Give emotional support beginning in the first trimester of pregnancy

  • Offer reassurance and guidance

  • Support you through the emotional and physical changes of early pregnancy

  • Listen to you and address your concerns in early pregnancy

  • Help you identify your current needs and connect you to resources 

  • Support and guide you through fears associated with miscarriage and infertility

 

Give informational support beginning in the first trimester of pregnancy

  • Give tips on how to find a care-provider that's the right fit for you

  • Educate on birth and birth options

  • Offer guidance on how to manage physical discomforts of early pregnancy

  • Answer non-medical questions about the whole perinatal process

Discuss Wellness Support

  • Discuss sleep, food, exercise, stress relief

 

Research, find, and refer you to appropriate resources in your area

Prenatal Hermanas Do Not:

Give medical advice or diagnose 

 

Provide mental health therapy or counseling

 

Replace medical advice or mental health therapy
